Florecer: Center for Equity in Education  is a think tank and action-oriented organization dedicated to promoting equity, social justice, and sustainable development through education. We work to create quality educational opportunities throughout life, strengthen the capacities of people facing greater socioeconomic challenges, and contribute to the transformation of historically excluded communities. We believe that access to new and diverse forms of knowledge will inspire our beneficiaries to reach their full potential, and that creating pathways to inclusion transforms educational institutions, students, and their families. We see ourselves as a “symbolic isthmus”: a bridge between exclusion and opportunity, between inequality and educational equity.

Our purpose is to connect education, research, social innovation, civic engagement, and public policy advocacy to build context-specific educational solutions that address the most urgent challenges. To achieve this purpose, we promote programs, partnerships, and learning labs that foster the holistic development of children, adolescents, young adults, and their families.

Florecer carries out initiatives in five strategic areas: education and holistic development; sustainable development and environmental culture; memory, culture, and civic engagement; libraries, reading, and knowledge management; and innovative consulting and training services.
